The mission of the Office of Campus Life, within the Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES), at the University of Illinois is to provide opportunities for students with disabilities to pursue their goals for athletic, recreational, leisure and personal achievement and well-being, utilizing responsive, state-of-the-art programs and services; collaborative partnerships; and, innovative research and outreach activities within a supportive and stimulating environment.

Quiet/Tranquility Spots on Campus

Feeling stressed out or overwhelmed?  Need a place to meditate or re-center yourself?  The Undergraduate Library has two Reflection Rooms to be used for meditation or prayer.  The rooms are equipped with different and user controlled lighting, a sound machine, and rocking chair.  Here is a description: https://www.library.illinois.edu/ugl/about/reflection-rooms/

EVERYBODY EATS

Everybody Eats is an initiative to ensure those in our Illini community have access to a hot meal and are provided with adequate nutrition.  

Currently, Everybody Eats has two programs under its umbrella, each with a different meal offering, Bevier Café (College of ACES) and Everybody Eats (University Housing). See descriptions, locations, and hours for each below:

Bevier Café: No matter how much or how little you give; everyone has a place at our table.

  • How It Works: Order from the daily menu, then chose from four ways to pay:

    • Pay the menu price
    • Pay what you can
    • Pay more
    • Pay it forward
  • Location: Bevier Hall, Second Floor, 905 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
  • Dining Options: Dine-in, carry out or contactless online ordering

University HousingSupporting our Illini community one hot meal at a time. 

  • How It Works: Visit one of the two designated hot box locations and help yourself to the daily soup and rice inside. Completely free, no ID required. 
  • Locations: For hot box locations, email everybodyeats@illinois.edu.Your email will generate an autoreply with specific hot box instructions. 
  • Hours: Monday – Friday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. or until food runs out. 
  • Dining Options: Carry out.

In addition to those, there is also the Food Assistance and Well-Being Program, which is a shopping style pantry located in the ARC Instructional Kitchen.

Wesley Food Pantry

  • Wesley Student Center at Green and Goodwin in Urbana
  • Every Thursday, 5pm to 7pm
  • No parking available before 5pm
  • STUDENT ONLY HOURS: 1st Monday of the Month from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm; student ID required.

The Canteen Run goes out every week all year round on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. It goes from 6:30 pm to about 9:00 pm each weeknight, and about 3:00-5:00 pm on Sundays. Each time out, the truck usually visits the following places: MTD Illinois Terminal Scott Park/Boneyard Champaign Public Library Urbana Public Library

Featuring speakers, panels, and resources at the University of Illinois, all lunches introduce you to the cultures, histories, and societal issues that the diverse communities of our campus face. Since 2012, UniPlace Christian Church has hosted a free community dinner for those in the Champaign-Urbana community. Every Wednesday during the University of Illinois academic school year, students at the university volunteer in the UniPlace Christian Church kitchen where they serve free meals to those who live in the Champaign-Urbana community.
