  • Psi Chi Undergraduate Psychology Association provides help in psychology classes or general study skills. Email Psi Chi to request a tutor.

  • The Center for Academic Resources in Engineering (CARE) is the most comprehensive tutoring support source for students in engineering. They help to cover virtually all 100-200 level undergraduate courses that engineers take, and sometimes can help to arrange tutoring support for upper level courses as well. 
  • Check out Tau Beta Pi (Illinois Alpha Engineering Honor Society) for tutors for some chemistry, math and computer science courses as well as engineering courses.

  • Student Resources provides a variety of tutoring resources listed under "General Study Skills Assistance," including individual and group tutoring for MCB as well as tutoring resources for chemistry, math and physics courses.

  • Tutoring services lists a variety of tutoring options including walk-in tutoring, scheduled tutoring hours with AXE Chemistry Fraternity members, and tutors for hire.
  • American Chemical Society Student Affiliates offers free group tutoring and $10/semester for individual tutoring in all general and organic chemistry courses and many upper level courses. Email ACSSA to request tutoring.

  • The Writer's Workshop is a free campus service that provides writing assistance to students from all disciplines and at all stages of the writing process. Whether you're working on a course paper, personal statement, group writing project, speech, thesis, internship or application materials, or job-related documents, our consultants are here to help. The workshop offers both face-to-face and online appointments and has drop-in sessions available Sunday through Thursday evenings.

If you cannot find a tutor to meet your needs using the resources above, schedule a meeting with either your professor or TA. They may be able to help you directly or assist you in finding someone who you can meet with on a regular basis.

Academic Advisors

Your academic advisor may know of resources in individual departments to assist you.

DRES Academic Staff

Contact your Access Specialist to determine if they know of another student who would be willing to tutor you. Sometimes students who are receiving DRES services are interested in tutoring other students in their strong areas as a way of giving back to DRES for what they have received.
