The 35th National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

The University of Illinois is excited and honored to host the 35th National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament (NIWBT).  The tournament will be held at Huff Hall on March 8 -10, 2012.  Seven men's teams from: Edinboro University, Southwest Minnesota State University, University of Alabama, University of Illinois, University of Missouri, University of Texas-Arlington, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and 4 women's teams from: Edinboro University, University of Alabama, University of Illinois, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater will compete for the national title.  The University of Illinois Men's team has 11 Collegiate Championships to its name.  The U of I Women's team, while they have 14 National titles, the NIWBT is only in its second year of hosting a women's division.

Admission to the games is free and open to the public.

11am - Game 5 - Women’s #2 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater   vs Women’s #3 University of Illinois

1pm - Game 6 Men’s Edinboro University  vs Southwest Minnesota State University (7th place)

3pm - Game 7 Men’s University of Illinois   vs Men’s #1 University of Texas-Arlington (Semi-Final #1)

5pm - Game 8 Men’s Unversity of Wisconsin-Whitewater  vs Men’s University of Alabama  (Semi-Final #2)

7pm - Game 9 Men’s Winner Game 6 vs University of Missouri  (5th/6th place)

 

Saturday, March 10th

8am - Women’s Consolation Game - Loser Game 4 vs Looser Game 5 (3rd/4th place)

10am - Men’s Consolation Game - Loser Game 7 vs Looser Game 8 (3rd/4th place)

12pm - Women’s Championship Game - Winner Game 4 vs Winner Game 5

2pm - Men’s Championship Game - Winner Game 7 vs Winner Game 8
